Call for Nominations: 2017 ASMTA Teacher of the Year Award

Posted by Chaz Allen on 01/23/2017

If you know of an outstanding independent or college/university music teacher who is currently a member of ASMTA and has made significant contributions to the organization and to the music teaching profession, then we encourage you to nominate them for the 2017 ASMTA Teacher of the Year Award.

The recipient of this special award will be recognized at the Friday evening dinner (June 2) during our 2017 State Conference at Harding University (Searcy, AR) June 2-3, 2017. Please note that nominations must be received no later than Friday, May 5, 2017 in order to be considered.

When making nominations, please include a letter of recommendation plus supporting materials indicating why you feel the nominee is deserving of this high honor. (Note that nominations from previous years are not “carried over” and need to be resubmitted along with a new letter of recommendation and updated supporting materials). Please submit all materials electronically via e-mail.

We hope to receive a number of nominations for our 40th annual award honoring an outstanding ASMTA teacher in our state.

To submit an nomination, or if you have any questions regarding the award and/or the nomination process, please contact Dr. Chris Thompson at [email protected].
